Powerschool Parent/Student Portal Now Available
September 27, 2007
We are excited to announce the opening of our Parent/Student Portal for the 2007-2008 school year. Parents and students now have online access to grades and attendance through this portal. Parents are also able to set up e-mail notifications to automatically inform them of new information as it becomes available.
We recommend viewing grades and attendance for each class with your child present. Take time to discuss each grade before contacting the teacher because the assignment as listed only reflects a grade, not its context of due dates and expectations.
Take time to read the grade screen for each class in its entirety. Grades are predictors of what is to come, and what is posted is only a benchmark of the student's progress. Late work, major projects, and participation grades may not be entered until the end of the grade period or semester; and once entered, could change the whole picture. We recommend that you pay special attention to missing assignments or those assignments recorded as a zero.
District staff members are still in the transition stage of this new technology. Always allow for lag time because not all information is updated daily. While teachers are using this grading tool, differences will occur from class to class because not all grading and teaching styles are alike.
Please remember, this site is to help you and your child communicate about what is happening at school. If you need further information, please call 335-2821 ext. 120. We are always pleased to hear from you.
Access to the portal is through the Powerschool button on the right side of our Webpage.
If you have not received your username and password, please contact the technology office at 335-2821 ext. 120.
Below are a series of video tutorials that will show you how to access and use the PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal. To watch videos you will need Quick time player on your computer. Click on them to play them.
